Meet Design Team member Natalie!

My name is Natalie Dever, stay at home mom to four mostly adorable children- whose faces occupy the majority of my scrapbook pages. I started scrapbooking soon after my oldest child was born (17 years ago!); I was invited to a Creative Memories workshop and was immediately hooked! I was introduced to D.O.T.S. (now Close to My Heart) about a year later and have been stamping ever since. I love doing anything paper and ink related from scrapbooking to cards to tags and gift packages...love it all!
I am a ‘reality’ TV junkie and almost NEVER miss an episode of Survivor. I am addicted to diet coke and taco pizza and I am always ready to read a good vampire love story.
I am so excited to be working with Gel-a-tins stamps!

Meet Design Team member Karin!

Hi!
My name is Karin Åkesdotter and I'm from Gothenburg, Sweden where I live with my dear husband Mikael and our sweet son Ted (2½). I have been doing arts and crafts, sewing, drawing, painting, papercrafting etc. etc. for as long as I can remember - driving my mum crazy with new projects every day! So it was no surprise that I chose that path for my career and studied arts and crafts with a focus on textiles for 5 years at the University of Gothenburg and have now been teaching textile crafts/needle work (it's a compulsory subject here) to 7-9th graders for 15 years ( 0-: - time flies).

I bought my first clear stamp set (Wroom from Gel-a-tins!!!) a few years ago and it was love at first "try" but it was not until August last year that I began blogging about my papercrafting. It all started when I saw a cute little altered birdhouse at our local scrapbooking store and went home to see if I could find a template on the internet. I hit different sites about bloghops, challenges, color cues etc. and a new world opened up to me and I have been completely addicted ever since. I am very excited to be a part of the Gel-aTins design team and thrilled to be working with such a talented group of designers.

Meet Design Team member Gladys!

passport.jpg

Hello… My name is Gladys Chia and I am from Sunny Singapore. I have known the scrapbooking industry in year 2008 through my elder sister. Loving all the beautiful things – papers, ribbons, stickers, flowers. I used to hoard them because they are soooo pretty to use them! Ha! I started to create a few pages of layout and find them too large for me to fill up the space of 12 x 12 pages. That’s why I start from card making and there goes my crafting journey. I love to create my own handmade stuff whenever I am free. Its has been a very fun and interesting journey. I am loving each and every part of the process in creating my own art. I love travelling, shopping, reading, watching movies and having fun!! I can’t wait to start this wonderful journey to show you what I can create.

Meet Design Team member Ellen!

I am so excited to be part of the Gel-a-Tins Design Team. I have been scrapbooking for almost six years now. It started out as a stamping hobby and then just naturally progressed into paper crafting in general. I love to create cards, layouts, mini albums and altered projects and find myself creating almost every day. I stamp on virtually every project, I cannot get enough of it! My days and nights are spent with my two boys, Owen and Henry, and my awesome husband, Brian. We also have two dogs, Max & Chase and you will see all of these guys as subject matter in my projects. They are such an inspiration to me! By day I work in Social Media and Marketing and also teach Business Classes at a local community college. I am so lucky that I found a way to combine my love of creating with paper and a full time job. Other than that, we travel a lot, love to wine taste, watch the Phillies, and hangout out with family and friends.

Meet Design Team member Cherie!

Image

My name is Cherie Nymeyer. I live in SW Ontario with my husband and son. When not scrapbooking, I work as a Payroll Administrator for one of the largest grocery store chains in Canada. I've been scrapbooking for almost 8 years; just after I got married. I remember getting my wedding photos and thinking, there has to be something better then just sticking them in an album and putting them on a shelf. A co-worker showed me her scrapbook album and I was smitten with the craft immediately. I love working on multi photo single page layouts and usually find a way to incorporate a stamp into every page! I submit regularly to scrapbook magazines and have had my layouts and cards in most of the magazines on the newsstand. I've been very fortunate to work with many great design teams and count myself extremely fortunate to be designing for Gel-a-tins. I've been a fan of Gel-a-tins Stamps from the day they came on the market and I hope I can inspire you through stamping!

Meet Design Team member Cassie!

We missed Cassie's birthday at the beginning of the month, so be sure to leave her some belated birthday wishes in the comments!

I am a stay-at-home homeschooling mom to two great kids, and the wife to a military man. We currently live in Columbus, GA, but I from Nebraska where I was born and raised. I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. . .GO HUSKERS! I started stamping when I was 11, when my mother introduced it to me and my sister. We started out making our own Christmas gift tags and embossing them over our electric stove. I loved that and the memories were so great. I picked it all back up when my second child, my daughter, was only a few months old. I needed something that was just for me, so I did it for fun when I had time. I entered the world of blogging only a couple of years ago, and am so thankful that I did because I have met some wonderful people and it has really helped my style to grow! While I did scrap when my kids were little, I just don't do it anymore. I'm all cards now, and I would say that I am primarily a Clean and Simple gal. Although I've been known to dabble in the more intricate as well :)

Meet Design Team member Angela!

Image

I'm 34 years old and my most important attributes are being an artist, a wife, and a mother of three children. I started stamping half a lifetime ago (literally!) when I got into stamping at the age of 17, after receiving a letter from a friend who had stamped and heat embossed an image on her letter. I didn't even know what it was called, but I was determined to find out and learn how to do it!
I'm also a watercolour painter and so I do something creative every single day. Art is a huge part of my life. I was thrilled to be one of the winners of Paper Crafts magazine's Stamping Royalty 2011 competition recently - it was a big encouragement to me to continue following my creative instincts. I'd say my style is funky vintage - I love colour and layers and stamping appears in almost all of my paper projects. This year I combined three blogs into one web site, and you can see my paintings, papercraft projects and personal musings on that site, http://www.AngelaFehr.com.
I am blessed to live in the north - northern British Columbia - and despite enduring 6+ months of winter, I love our rural lifestyle and beautiful rugged country. I home school my children, ages 5, 7 and 8, and work very part time at home doing graphic design, freelance writing, and art, of course! I also have a bit of a unique background since my parents are missionaries and I spent my teenage years living in the tropical jungles of Papua New Guinea, in a remote tribal village.
Being on the gel-a-tins design team has been so fun so far! I love the variety of stamp sets and the fun scented embossing powders and I can't wait to see the new lines BonBon will be unveiling this year!

More ideas for you!

Tomorrow we're going to start getting to know the gel-a-tins Design Team a little better, but today we have a card and a layout for you!

This sweet baby card is by Karin.  She used three different stamps from the Elephant Garden set to fit that baby theme and it's just lovely in purple!

This fab layout is by Angela.

"I made one more project using the Spin Cycle stamp set - it is a great basic set for backgrounds, accents and more! I did this page on kraft cardstock, and then stamped the circles in navy and desert sand inks. I applied rub ons to the centers of some of the circles which worked really well!

The Spin Cycle circles are already distressed, a look that I love - and even more so when ink doesn't quite transfer onto the page in spots - it looks intentional!  I will be using the Spin Cycle set a lot - there is just so much you can do with it!"

Happy Days!

Check out this great distressed card by Sheree!  She used the Happy Days stamp set for the greeting, and backing it with card stock that matches the ink really grabs your attention.

just for you

Now, just look at this beautiful card by Gladys. Her greeting was made with one of the stamps from the Many Thanks set.  Stamped, cut out and made into a tag, it looks adorable tied to the front of the card with baker's twine.  She embellished the card by using a stamp from the Put a Cap On It stamp set to make a flower that she backed with layers of doilies.  What a great idea!
