Father's Day Shifting Gears

Hi everyone! I hope you aren't suffering too much from the Monday Blues! :-)

Father's Day is fast approaching so today I'm bringing you a great card for Dad featuring the Gel-à-Tins Shifting Gears set!

I went for a CAS-meets-grunge effect and came up with this:

Perfect for an engineer or geek dad huh?!

I started with some silver cardstock and embossed the gears using a brass embossing powder. Then I tried something new - sprinkled embossing! I dipped a wide, flat, soft brush into my embossing powder and tapped it above the card base to sprinkle on the powder before heating it. Love how this turned out!

To finish up the design I rubbed a couple of different grey inkpads over the card to dirty it up a little, then embossed a Father's Day sentiment - and that's all there is to it!

Supplies Used:

Gel-à-Tins:
Shifting Gears

Other:

World's Greatest Dad stamp set (Papertrey Ink)
Pressed Greige Linen & I Steel Got It inks (Clear And Simple Stamps), Versamark ink (Tsukineko)
Sterling Silver cardstock (Clear And Simple Stamps)

Metallic Brass embossing powder (WOW!)

I'm looking forward to seeing you again when I next post! Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by!

You Are Out Of This World

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! :-)

Today I'm bring you a fun mini card featuring the Gel-à-Tins Shifting Gears and Take Me To Your Leader stamps!

I really wanted to create a cute boy-themed card with these sets, and the space theme from Take Me To Your Leader led me to this:

Fun huh?!

I started with some silver cardstock and embossed the robots/aliens and the 'planet' and sentiment using clear embossing powder. I really wanted these guys to live on a gear planet, isn't it cute?!

To finish up the design and take it into subspace I sprayed and splattered the card with mists then wiped off the excess from the embossed images. I love this quick and easy emboss resist technique, and the results really look like a space scene!

Supplies Used:

Gel-à-Tins:
Shifting Gears, Take Me To Your Leader

Other:

Versamark ink (Tsukineko)
Sterling Silver cardstock (Clear And Simple Stamps)

Black Velvet, Tropicana Teal Mists (Heidi Swapp)
Clear Semi Dull embossing powder (WOW!)

I'm looking forward to seeing you again when I next post! Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Adorable You

Hi Everyone! Today I am sharing a card with you, that I made with two stamp sets: Shifting Gears & Hello!. I love this stamp set Hello! , because you can use it on your scrapbook pages or make some fun cards with it! You can find the stamp set in the Gel-a-tins Store here: http://gelatinstampshop.com/wholesale/p ... ucts_id=40

Here is the Hello! Stamp Set:

I absolutely LOVE all the little sayings on it! Here is the card I created:

Instructions:
1. On Cream Cardstock stamp three different Gears from the Shifting Gears set with three different colours. Cut this to fit on your cardstock base and adhere.
2. Add Patterned paper to the top half of the base of the card.
3. Tie coordinating ribbon where the cream paper, and patterened paper meet. Stamp GUARANTEED stamp from the Hello! Stamp set. on red cardstock. Cut around it, and adhere it onto your card.
4. Stamp the GUARANTEED stamp again onto cream cardstock.Stamp your word of choice (I chose adorable) onto the center part. Cut out only the word, and pop this up using foam tape.
5. Add any additional lettering with small alphabet stickers.

You can do so much with a stamp!

Today we've got two projects that show you two very different ways you can use our stamp sets!  First up is Cherie with her sweet layout that uses the Save the Date set for her embellishment.   I just love that set!

"I stamped the numbered circle, then I stamped the line circle inside and then the date inside of that! I cut it out and added it to my page as a main focus embellishment."

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics, Core'dinations
Patterned Paper & Stickers: Echo Park
Stamps: Gel-a-tins
Ink: Stampin' Up!

This card is by Jessica.  Using a patterned paper with a monochromatic background and adding a solid stamp to it makes for a great look for a layered card or layout!

"I started with this one by stamping the different stamps from the Shifting Gears set all over the background paper.  Some of them I left looking a little rough, I think it adds to the mechanical, masculine look of the card.  Once I added that paper to my base, I misted some chipboard gears and added them to the card with foam adhesive.  With an ink around the edge and a sentiment, I was done and I love it!"

Paper: Imaginisce
Card base: Canvas Corp.
Sentiment: Cosmo Cricket
Ink: Staz-On and Ranger
Gears: Unique Pages
Adhesive: Xyron

Tuesday Fun!

We have some great cards to share with you today!  The first is by Cherie.

I adore this Shifting Gears set. It has so many different ways you can use it to make each project unique. When flipping through some of my embellishments this afternoon, I came across these super cute Fancy Pants Rub-Ons that worked perfectly with the Shifting Gears Stamp Set.

Stamps: Gel-a-tins Shifting Gears & Honey Bear

And this adorable Halloween card is by Cassie.

I thought it would be fun to get away from the traditional orange and black by using kraft in a nighttime setting. I punched a circle in some scrap paper and then airbrushed the moon in. I covered the moon with another circle punched out of a post it so that I could airbrush the rest of the night sky around the moon. After that was accomplished I stamped the haunted house. The main panel for the card was embossed with an embossing plate.
