Snowflake Scene

Hi everyone! I'm so glad to be back sharing a new Gel-à-Tins project with you!

Today I'm bringing you a quick and easy card featuring the Gelly Jr's Snowflake stamp! I've been waiting and waiting for Winter to come so I could use it!

I kept this very CAS and wanted to convey a falling snow scene:

Image

What do you think? Cute huh?!

Image

I started by stamping the snowflakes with white ink.

Image

I then stamped some others in Versamark ink and heat set with white embossing powder. I added some more snowflakes in the same way but didn't emboss them. I wanted a really soft, layered scene without having layers popping off the base. I finished by embossing the sentiment and that was it!

Supplies Used:

Gel-à-Tins:
Gelly Jr's Snowflake

Other:
On Ice stamp set (Papertrey Ink)
Fresh Snow ink (Papertrey Ink), Versamark (Tsukineko)
Spring Rain cardstock (Papertrey Ink)
White embossing powder

I'd love to know what you think of this project. Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!!

Gingerbread Fun!

It's that time of year again! We all love making cards, so why not make them really special for those you love. This card looks complex, but really it is super simple to put together.

I embossed the Mini Fancy Flakes and the Mini Retro Flakes onto white cardstock and then added a bit of blue chalk to highlight them. Next I stamped and paper pieced the house from the Gingerbread House set. I had a few areas left to color in with my Copic markers. Using the same set, I embossed the green cardstock trees in white and then added some bling to complete my scene. And don't forget the border around the house made with red Gelly Gem Roll Ups! My final addition was the embossed banner. Let it Snow!!

Be sure to check back often for loads of fun and crafty ideas using our stamps and other great products.

See you soon.

Peace on Earth

Wow Christmas has come around really fast this year and this is the week for mailing your cards to your nearest and dearest. Why not bring a little sparkle to their festivities by using the amazing new gel-a-tins gelly gem roll-ups. I love the blue and the shimmer is so glam.

Produts Used

gel-a-tins gelly gem roll-ups (Blue)
Xyron 5" Creative Station
Xyron Mega Runner
Mini Gems
Blue Ribbon
'Peace' Sentiment
mini gems
Trimcraft Up Up & Away Stack

For my Card I cut the gelly gem on my guillotine into a triangle to make my super sparkly Christmas tree. I used the Xyron 5" Creative Station to apply adhesive for a perfect finish. I added a few gems to the tree to give the effect of Christmas lights

Image

The star on the top of my tree was stamped and embossed using the gel-a-tins Starts Clear Stamps

Image

The bottom of the tree is finished with the blue ribbon held in place using the Xyron Mega Runner

Image

Finish the card by cuttin a strip of the gelly gems and run through the Xyron 5" creative Station and then remove the centre with a craft knife and use the remainder as a frame around the sentiment.

Merry, Merry Christmas Card

Creating fun & fanciful feminine cards is a holiday must for me each year! I was inspired to use the candy stamps from the "Gingerbread House" collection as accents for the dress form on this card.

Image

I heat embossed the stamped candy images and the chipboard snowflakes using “Santa’s Candy Cane” Scented Gelly Powder. The speckled powder definitely has the festive smell of candy canes!

Image

The dress and snowflakes are accented with Studded Gelly Gems Roll-Ups. I cut a small strip for the dress belt and cut individual silver studs for the other accents. They were so easy to cut and use!

Gel-å-Tins (http://gelatinstamps.com) Supplies:

Stamp Your Own Ornaments!

Hello, gel-a-tins fans! It's Jessi from Kissin' Krafts and I am excited to share this project with you! (I might be so addicted I will probably be making more soon!) I am stepping away from my normal cards today and sharing with you an ornament I made for Christmas trees.

I used Cheverontastic for this project:

Image

I made the dough (similar to salt dough (but made with baking soda and cornstarch) and rolled it out like I was making cookies. The next stamp is to stamp the dough. (You can do this two different ways. You can stamp the dough and then use cookie cutters or vice versa. I like cutting the dough and then stamping). Make sure to use a straw to make the hole at the top of the ornament. And bake away.

Image

I loved how these turned out. This was the first batch that I made, so it was a learning process. I did have to throw away half the batch due to cracking. But hopefully, I have learned the cause and know now how to fix.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a great gel-a-tins day!

Festive Gingerbread House

The holiday season means you will be sending Christmas Cards to a long list of family and friends. Those bulky cards will require 20 cents more postage.
Try paper piecing with the Gingerbread House Stamp Set by Gelatins to keep your cards less bulky.
You can bring in fun prints and patterns to your simple gingerbread image this Christmas! Glitter is a great way to add interest to your card without adding bulk.

I Melt For You!

I made a card to share with you this week!

This stamp is from the Gelatins stamp set mini retro flakes & sayings. Yes, this is actually a Christmas stamp but as you can see the sentiment can be used without the snow flake stamps in a non-Christmas way. Used alone, the sentiment can double for a Valentine's day card or even just a random I love you card.

I based this design on a sketch I found at Retro Sketches. The inks I used are poppy parade by Stampin' Up & antique linen by Tim Holtz distress ink (around the sentiment).

A close up of the stamping:

Try using one of your stamp sets in a non-traditional way. It's a great idea for stretching your dollar & really getting your money's worth from your stamp purchase!

Thanks for stopping by!

Meet Taheerah!

Getting to Know Taheerah

Image

Hi everyone! Nice to meet you!

I’m Taheerah Atchia and I’m definitely more than a little crazy about crafting! I started with cardmaking maybe about 3 years ago now, but the addiction definitely took on a new life when I started stamping a couple of years back! I'm a returning DT member and am beyond thrilled to be here for another term - thank you Gel-à-Tins!!

My greatest joy and sense of accomplishment with this hobby come from creating all my elements from scratch, definitely making each of my creations an intense labour of love and work of heart. My style is always evolving and I love to stay on top of trends and incorporate them into my work with my own twist.

I live in the UK (where it is never warm enough!) with 4 beautiful cats. I’m a scientist at heart and can often be found confusing people with my explanations of how the universe works! I work in IT and am definitely a bit of a geek! Aside from science and stamping my passions are singing, writing poetry, photography and enjoying life in my own crazy eccentric way!

I discovered Gel-à-Tins only this year, when I found some beautiful creations on the blog of a former Design Team member. I was instantly hooked on the amazing designs, versatility of products and above all the warm and friendly Gel-à-Tins crew. I thoroughly enjoyed my first term as a Gel-à-Tina and have some favourite projects to share with you all:

And finally a little ombre card created with the Gelly jr's Flutterby stamp.

You can find my work in Paper Crafts and CARDS magazines, and I also was a Top 10 Finalist in this year's Gallery Idol competition! If you have time I’d be truly delighted if you’d stop by my blog http://littlemisst-papercraft.blogspot.com/

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Meet Susie!

My name is Susie Cannon Moore and you can find me at http://www.TheDiesHaveIt.com every single day. I am married to my soul mate Randall and between us we have five grown children - four boys and one girl. We are also blessed to have five wonderful grandchildren, three boys and two girls. We live in a small country town – Maypearl, Tx.

I have been paper crafting all my life…but started scrapbooking seriously in 1998. It has been full throttle ever since. My motto is, “A day without scrapbooking? Not if I can help it”. And I’ve tried to live by that all these years.

I have been published in Paper Crafts Magazine, Just Steampunk Magazine and also have been on HGTV’s Crafter’s Coast to Coast. What an experience!

I love to scrapbook my family, do mini books mostly as gifts, and card making is a passion I have embraced for years. I make tons of cards, do some paper scrapbooking layouts and also love to scrapbook digitally.

I will share with you just a few of my recent projects:

I love to make cards using stamps and Copic markers.

Sometimes I am lucky enough to do custom invitation work.

And finally, this is a digital layout I did of our most recent grandchild.

I hope you have enjoyed these projects. Can't wait to share more with you.

Susie
