Hearts a Flutter

It is Monday and we're going to pretend like it's Valentine's Day in August.  Can we do that?  Sure.  I said so.  :)  I have quite a few Valentine's Day stamp sets and I like to use them so last week I decided to make a little set of mini cards with the Hearts a Flutter stamp set.  I like them a lot, even though they're a little wild compared to what I normally make...

Get it?  Wild?  With the zebra?  I'm a dork.  :D  Anyway, I added some Canvas Corp. zebra print paper to the card bases with my Xyron 510, then inked around the edges with Distress ink in black.  The ribbons were added with my Xyron 150, and then I cut a slit along the spine of the card with my craft knife and tied twine by The Twinery around the front of the card.  The hearts were stamped in Stampin' Up inks, cut out, then attached to the front of the cards with foam adhesive (made in my Xyron).  These came together pretty quick once I decided on the design, and they'll be perfect to sneak into the boys' lunch boxes this year on Valentine's Day.

Have a great Monday!  Happy Stamping!

Love is all around!

Does love put you all in a spin?.  These super fun 'Sweet Heart' Clear stamps certainly got me spinning around.  I used the circular 'Love' with some Amy Tangarine paper from the 'Sketchbook' pad and topped it off with some ribbon and a flower.

Showering You in Kisses

Valentine's Day is just two short days away. Today I am showering you with my latest Valentine's card created using the "Raindrops are Falling" Collection and "Sealed With A Kiss" Collection.

Image

I started with a visual in my head of how I wanted this card to look. The "showering you in kisses" sentiment was printed on my computer, then I built the card scene around the sentiment.

Image

The umbrellas from the "Raindrops Are Falling" Collection were stamped with black Archival Ink onto printed paper. I fussy cut them out and laid them on the bottom of my card (without adhering them). Then I stamped the umbrella handle directly onto the card. (A little hint here...to get just the handle image of the umbrella on my card base, I covered the rest of the umbrella with washi tape while I was inking and then pulled the tape off before I stamped the handle so the rest of the umbrella wouldn't accidently be stamped onto my card base.)

I arranged the the lip stamps from "Sealed With A Kiss" randomly around my sentiment and above the umbrellas. They are inked in pink and red Momento Ink.

My finishing touch was adding the umbrellas with Helmar Zapdots to give them a bit of height.

Love Birds

Happy Monday, gel-a-tins fans! It's Jessi here from Kissin' Krafts! Can you feel the LOVE in the air? Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Are you ready for it?

Today I have a cute paper-piecing card to share with you:

Image

Using the gel-a-tins, Love is in the air, and a variety of papers from Echo Park's This & That collection, I stamped the images on the patterned papers and hand-cut the images out. To include the birds' legs, I stamped the images on the cardstock and placed the paper pieces over the images. After the cut-outs were glued to the cardstock, I added the white cardstock onto a back layer of patterned paper. The final touch was the sentiment stamped onto a hand cutout cloud.

Thank you for stopping by today! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hearts For Your Love

Happy Tuesday!  Have you been looking at gifts for your Valentine this year?  I like to give a little something to my husband and all the kids to show that I care, and I am a little behind with the shopping.  Maybe I've been spending too much time scrapping and that's why my shopping isn't getting done :)

Today I wanted to share some of that crafty-ness I've been working on.  I used two different heart stamps from the A Hundred Hearts set to embellish this Valentine's card.

I did a lot of layering on this card with some papers and lace and stamps and pins and I really like how it turned out.  Sometimes you need a special embellishment in just the right size and color, and stamps are the perfect thing to grab.  That small heart, combined with that pink that matches the color exactly, really finished up that top corner.  The other heart looks great too, because those outline stamps are exactly what you need when you're using patterned paper for your stamping.  Keep your stamps where you can reach them and you'll always have the embellishment you need for your project!

Shake Up Your Valentine's Day

Hey there!  It has been a while, but I'm back to share a card with you.

It seems like I get to scrap more for Valentine's Day than I do for just about any other holiday.  It's a more calm time of year so I have more free time to work on projects (plus there is some cute Valentine stuff out there!).

I decided to make a shaker card to share with you today.  Check it out...

The first thing that I did was stamp some of the small hearts from the A Hundred Hearts set onto some white paper with Versamark ink.  I made three of them and embossed one with the Cherry scented gelly powder, one with the Hawaiian Breeze gelly powder and one with the plumeria gelly powder.  My scraproom smelled so good while I was working on this card :)

The shaker box is madde from layers of foam adhesive that I made with my Xyron machine.  I cut the heart for the top out from a shape that I drew, and I used pinking shears because I thought it was cute.  I used papers from a little American Crafts stack I picked up at Target and the other items on the card are Stampin' Up inks, a Jenni Bowlin Fiskars punch, twine by The Twinery, ribbon by May Arts, and heart sequins by Queen and Co.

I also threw some beads in there for a little more sparkle in the shaker.  This took a little bit to put together (I didn't start out with a real plan for the shaker), but I LOVE how it turned out!  I hope you're inspired to make a little something with your gel-a-tin stamps this week!

For Your Honey Bear

Hello, gel-a-tins friends! Thank you for stopping by today! It is Jessi P. here and I am excited to share you a card using the Honey Bear Stamp Set.

I don't waste time skipping from Christmas to Valentine's projects! So I decided that the cute bear from the Honey Bear set would make a great card.

Here it is:

Image

I stamped the bear in brown and used a variety of markers to color in the bear. (One New Year's Resolution for myself...learn to color with markers!!!) Next was to cut out the bear. I also cut a slit between the bear's arm and leg to slip in the twine as I put the card together.

Using a heart shape punch, I created the balloons by stamping the sentiment and using ink to color the hearts. Twine is attached to make the balloon strings from the heart to the bear's hand.

The last step was to piece the card together. Using a patterned paper for the background.

Hugs & Kisses

I love being able to use seasonal stamp sets for different seasons. When you can do that with a stamp set, you know it is a versatile one! With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I knew the heart and candy kiss stamp in the “Gingerbread House" collection could easily be incorporated into a card filled with love.

Image

The heart and candy kiss stamps just screamed “hugs & kisses” to me. So I designed my card around the stamped images, each of which is stamped onto cardstock & punched out into a circle.

A Sweet House For You!

Now that Christmas is over, I wanted to use the Gingerbread house stamp in a less Christmasy way. I chose to go with a Valentine's day theme & the "sweet on you" sentiment.

I added some Stickles in cotton candy & diamond for something a little extra on the house. For the heart on the door, I used some glossy accents.

Here's a close up shot of the stamp...

Fun Valentine's Day decor

I think I lot of us tend to just use our stamps for card making, but it's important to remember that a lot of the value in stamps is because of how versatile they are.  I love using my stamps to make embellishemnts and for altered projects.  I really love how these hanging hearts turned out.

I used a couple of the stamps from the A Hundred Hearts set to make these.  The stamps were used on pages from an old dictionary.  I stamped them so that you could read the romantic words I found :)  I misted them and cut them out, then mounted them inside some spray painted and distressed heart shaped tart pans.  The chipboard and paper hearts on the back side were cut using my Xyron/Spellbinder's dies, and I accented everything with some fancy trims and some vintage silver glass glitter.  I think I'll end up putting these in my front entry.

Have a great Monday and don't forget to ask your favorite local craft store about carrying gel-a-tins!
