Independence Day

Hi everyone! So nice to see you again! :-)

I'm a day late because of the posting schedule but I am bringing you a little card to celebrate Independence Day featuring the Gel-à-Tins Crackle Paint and Super Star stamp sets!

Pairing these two sets together made for a modern and funky take on the Star Spangled Banner:

I think this turned out pretty cool!

I stamped the crackle for the stripes using a red ink, then stamped my stars in navy, and that's all that was needed for this card!

For this card I combined many of the great stamps from the gel-a-tins range.  I wanted to create a funky and bright birthday card that would suit a teenager.  I had some new Neon markers and thought that this was the ideal way to give them a try.

I stamped the 'Brick Wall' onto the blank base card using the StazOn ink. 



 

The markers worked great with the stamps, just rub across the surface and stamp away.

 

 

The neon combined with the stamps give a graffiti effect.

 

 

 A strip from the neon shoe lace instead of ribbon gives it a little more 'Street Cred'

 

 

Super Star Tag

Hi everyone! It's great to be with you today! Today I'm sharing a funky tag I made using the Gel-à-Tins Super Star set!

I love stars, especially funky ones like these! I decided they should steal the show and star in plenty of bright colours:



Pretty fun huh?! Let me tell you what I did!



I started by die cutting a tag from cream cardstock. I then stamped the stars in a variety of colours in a random fashion. Sometimes chaos is better than order!



I then stamped the letters to allude to the 'Super Star' statement of this tag, allowing careful positioning so that the next 'character' was that yellow star itself!



Some ribbon and twine were all that was then needed to finish off this tag!

A Card Fit For a Star!

I wanted to make a Birthday card that could be used for any age or gender so I used the gel-a-tins Stars Clear stamps and made this bright and simple card.

Ranger distress embossing powders
Foam pads

I matted and layered the Doodlebug papers with the American Crafts white cardstock using the Xyron Mega Runner.

Using the embossing pad I stamped three different size gel-a-tins stars onto the American Crafts white card stock and used the Ranger embossing powers. Cut out the stars, using foam pads stick them to the card.



Finish by adding the topper to the bottom right corner.

2013 Super Star!

Hi everyone! It's New Year's Eve and I've one more Gel-à-Tins project to share with you to see out 2012 and ring in the New Year!

I got a little festive and let that drive my design. I wanted to celebrate and what better way to do that than a card created with the Super Star set!

I know you'll be gearing up for your celebrations about now so I won't delay in presenting today's card:



Pretty neat huh?! If only you could see how much this sparkles in real life!



I started by stamping the stars onto white cardstock using Versamark ink. I placed them all on one block to make stamping the whole thing a breeze! I only needed to add a few smaller stars separately near the edges!



I then heat embossed the stars using some semi matt embossing powder. I wanted the stars to be there but not too in your face!



After that I spritzed the whole card with some shimmer/shine spray to really make it sparkle!



To finish off, I die cut some numbers and coated them with some sparkly glitter, before adhering to the base with dimensional glue gel. And that's all there was to it!

Make A Wish!

With the New Year a few days away we will all be thinking about our New Years Resolutions, I think I'll just make a wish that the new year is a good one!. For this project I again used the blue gel-a-tins gelly gem roll-ups to give my wishes a perfect start.

I trimmed the papers to size, inked the edges and ran through the Xyron 5" Creative Station and applied to the card. I stamped the black page with the gel-a-tins star stamp



I cut strips of the gel-a-tins gelly gems and ran through the Xyron 2.5" sticker maker and applied to the top edges of the card.



On the front of the card i stamped the polkadot star and applied a 'Make a Wish' rub-on.



To finish I stamped a large star on contrasting paper and cut out a star from the gel-a-tins gelly gem roll ups, ran through the Xyron 2.5" Sticker Maker and applied to the front of the card.

This one's for the boys...

Taking it down a notch this week. All you need today is your cardstock, ink and favorite Gel-A-Tins stamps. With this card I wanted to go back to the basics through the use of ink, Spin Cycle and Super Star. This card will take less than ten minutes, but with a big impact...and a smile at the end of it.

Begin by die cutting several circles. Stamp each one, using the larger circle stamp to add a border around the die cut shapes on the card itself. Add dimension using foam as you go as well to give a little more pop to certain elements.

Used Snips & Snails and a little twine to finish off the card.

The New gel-a-tins Monthly Challenge!

This month we're going to start a new feature here on the gel-a-tins blog.  I'm going to challenge you to use your gel-a-tin stamps on a project in a different way every month.  You'll need to link your project up at the end of the post and I'll do a random drawing at the end of the month for a winner!

First, let's talk about this month's challenge!

I thought for this first one, I'd ask you to use your gel-a-tin stamps to make the embellishments for your project!  I think sometimes we get used to just using stamps to add a sentiment to a card and forget how useful they can be.  So, use those stamps as your main embellishment on your page!

Here's what I did for this month's challenge:

I used the Super Star stamp set to make the embellishments for this layout.  This is one of my favorite sets and I love the way my layout came out using nothing but stars and some small alpha stickers.
