Scrappy Wednesday!

Well, the week is halfway done already!  I hope you've had a chance to get creative this week, but if you haven't, today's projects should inspire you.  A beautiful card and a sweet little gift box are just the sort of projects you can use any time!

This card is by Gladys.  She makes such detailed projects, and this card is no exception.  She used the Hello! set to embellish it.

Karin made this adorable little altered gift box with the Pet Shop stamp set.  I love how she stamped it twice and layered the ears to give it a little more dimension and detail!

Fabulous Fall Friday!

We're enjoying beautiful fall weather here in Arizona and I love it!  I have my Halloween decorations up and I've been doing some fall/Halloween crafting this week.  The nice weather makes crafting even more enjoyable for me.

Our DT has been working with their sets to make some projects that should inspire you whether you're ready for the weather to keep cooling off or not.  Let's see what Cassie and Gladys have to share!  First up is Cassie...

"I really enjoyed using the Save the Date set. I'm not a scrapbooker, so it was a challenge to think of how to use it. However, I discovered that this set has tremendous usability for a card maker! Here is a treat container I made for my husband in honor of our anniversary."

"I have so much fun stamping my own background using the Admission is Free set from gel-a-tins. They have the solid and the outline stamp of the ticket. I started off stamping the solid ticket in the middle and work my way out. Love the subtle look. For the sentiment, I used the many thanks stamp set."

"I love making my own patterned paper using stamps! For this card I inked the card base in Desert Sand and Black ink, using the Many Thanks set."



"I die cut a tag using paper from My Mind's Eye and a Papertrey Ink die, and stamped the sentiment at the bottom, then added a flower from Sassafras. I punched a little scallop strip using My Mind's Eye paper and a punch from EK Success. The black dotted paper is from October Afternoon.
I think the stamped patterned paper really adds emphasis to the sentiment!"

Happy Monday to all you gelly girls out there!  I'm back after a busy weekend and can't wait to share today's projects with you all!  First project today is by Gladys...

"I did a ticket for party invitation and love the little wordings at the side. I also made a hat attached to the ticket."

Isn't that adorable?  I love all the color on that project!  Our second project today is another one of mine, and there is no shortage of color on this one either!

A friend gave me a bunch of stamp pads and I had so much fun using some of my favorite cheery colors to make this card.  I love the Put a Cap on It set and I  go through a lot of thank you notes so I thought I'd make one of those with it.  I punched my caps out with a circle punch to keep them all the same size and shape (and to save me a lot of fussy cutting time).

Friday Cards!

It's finally Friday, gelly fans!  I'm looking forward to a calm (and hopefully slightly cooler) weekend for us.  I plan on doing some creating and I even get to have a girl's night on Saturday!  Woohoo!

Today's projects are by Karin and Gladys and I know you'll love them!  Let's see what Karin has for us first...

"For August I got the "Build a Flourish" to work with, and when I first saw it I have to admit I wondered how I was to make 4 cards from it - but wow- when I started using it I fell head over heels in LOVE with it. The stamps are so beautiful and useful I know this will be one of my favorite sets! It is fabulous for backgrounds and for adding that extra touch to labels and just beautiful to add to patterned paper."

For this card I've used stamps from Gel a tins sets; Build a Flourish and Many Thanks. Paper from K and Company and the label is Spellbinders.

Good morning!  Today we've got some more cards for you that are full of gel-a-tins goodness.  Gladys made two, onesie-shaped cards and used the Admission is Free set on them.  I love the look of white ink on Kraft paper and how cute are those boy and girl themes!

Cassie used the new Happy Halloween set to make a scary, spider-covered card for us!

"What's scarier than a spider? How about a bunch of them crawling across the surface of something! I started out by crumpling a piece of CDS Smoke Stack cardstock, and then marking it up with some Memento London Fog ink. After flattening it out as much as I could, I stamped the spiders with Versafine Onyx Black and then embossed them with some black embossing powder. How's that for creepy?! "

A card that looks good enough to eat!

Today I have another sweet card from DT member Gladys to share with you!  I love to bake and I have to admit that I still love all the cupcakes you see all over the Internet.  The best things about this one?  No calories and it won't melt in the summer heat!

"I have a Cupcake card for you! I am using the biggest button from the sewing kit set! Love how big it is! I added two leaves and dust some glitters! How cute is that! "

This is a project that I made with the Many Thanks set.  I love having wine glass charms for my guests, and the little stamps in this set made me think that I could make custom ones for Thanksgiving.

I used Tim Holtz acrylic fragments for the main parts of the charms.  I stamped onto cream patterned paper, colored in the stamps with markers and then ran them all through my Xyron upside down, so they'd be sticky on the stamped image.  I attached them to the tags, then trimmed around the edges and sealed the paper with Glossy Accents.  Just add a little color around the edge with a gold paint pen and a charm and jump ring and you can use ribbon to tie then around wine glasses.

"This card is really very simple - no fancy techniques so the emphasis stays on the stamps. Paper is Circa 1934 by Cosmo Cricket.
The pumpkin was stamped on textured card stock which gives it a distressed look, and I inked the card stock (which was a creamy yellow) with mustard ink to emphasize the texture."

Friday Fun!

It's time for more inspiration so let's get to it!  First off, it's a card from Gladys!  She used the Button Up sewing kit to make this cheery card!

DT member Angela used the Happy Halloween set to make this card.  I love that resist technique with embossing powder!

"I did LOTS of heat embossing on this card using White On gelly powder for the ghosts. After they were embossed, I sprayed the cardstock with Graphite Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels and wiped away the excess. Hint: if you miss a spot or two with the white gelly powder, a white gel or paint pen can be used to fill in the hole after misting.

The background was stamped with the moon stamp from the Halloween set and heat embossed using yummy scented Milk & Honey Gelly Powder. It's a beautiful creamy yellow, a little bit transparent when melted.
The sentiment was inked with pumpkin ink, then I rolled the edges of the stamp in black to give that awesome two-tone look. It was a fun card to make and very Halloween-y to me!"

Mix and Match Your Sets!

I know that I like to use stamps from different sets on my projects, and the gel-a-tins sets are perfect for this!  Whether you layer your stamps or cluster them together, you can create anything!  Sharm shows us how with our first project today.  She used Birds of a Feather and Many Thanks to make this card.

"Here's my card using the Birds of a Feather and Many Thanks Stamp Set. I love the Birds of a Feather set cause you can build you own lil scenery! It's versatile, and really lots of fun to work with! The Many Thanks stamps is wonderful as well as it has just to many ways to say Thank You! "

"Here is my first Aug card, using the sewing kit stamps. Love the several different buttons stamps in them. I stack different layers up and create a document ring and top it up with rhinestone. So cute!"

We have been having so much fun with the two new Halloween sets this month.  I hope you've been enjoying all the inspiration and are ready to get a head start on your own Halloween projects!

This project is by Jessica (that's me :)  I used to teach cake decorating and I love making cupcakes for parties and gifts.  The banner that's part of the Witchy Poo set made me think of the banners you see so much on cakes lately.  I just sized it down and attached it to twine.  I also used that banner (attached to my block on a curve) to stamp around the bottom edge of the cupcake wrappers I cut out.  The spider is from the other Halloween set and the bones are from Witchy Poo.  I think a table full of these would be so fun at a party!

Time to Get Spooky!

Hello gelly fans!  Today we have more Halloween for you!

First up, this Halloween decor project by Jessica (that's me :).  I used some frames I was given to make these cute little shadow box style decorations for my house.  I can set them on a table or hang them on the wall.  Can't wait to use them!  That Halloween banner that comes in the Witchy Poo set might just be my new favorite stamp.

I stamped the haunted house and embossed it in black.
Daubed /distressed around it with tea dye cham but made sure I left the windows clear.
I stamped the bats on a separate piece of paper and cut them out and glued them on.
The background is stamped with the web using snow white ink.

This adorable card is by Gladys.  I love how she took those pumpkin stamps and made them look like suckers!  Isn't that fun?

Meet Design Team member Gladys!

Hello… My name is Gladys Chia and I am from Sunny Singapore. I have known the scrapbooking industry in year 2008 through my elder sister. Loving all the beautiful things – papers, ribbons, stickers, flowers. I used to hoard them because they are soooo pretty to use them! Ha! I started to create a few pages of layout and find them too large for me to fill up the space of 12 x 12 pages. That’s why I start from card making and there goes my crafting journey. I love to create my own handmade stuff whenever I am free. Its has been a very fun and interesting journey. I am loving each and every part of the process in creating my own art. Happy Days!

Check out this great distressed card by Sheree!  She used the Happy Days stamp set for the greeting, and backing it with card stock that matches the ink really grabs your attention.

Now, just look at this beautiful card by Gladys. Her greeting was made with one of the stamps from the Many Thanks set.  Stamped, cut out and made into a tag, it looks adorable tied to the front of the card with baker's twine.  She embellished the card by using a stamp from the Put a Cap On It stamp set to make a flower that she backed with layers of doilies.  What a great idea!

Many Thanks!

Today we have two very different, but very lovely cards made with the Many Thanks stamp set!  There are so many stamps in this set that the possibilities are endless!
 First, a card by Gladys.



This card uses the circle strip and I used the 'Many Thanks' circle sentiments and used my 1" circle punch to create the border and used the heart shape stamps in between to create my background. Next I punch starburst from Martha Stewart and stamp "4U" from 'Put a Cap on it.'


And now a card by Sharm...
