Stamped Snowflake Ribbon!

This week I'm sharing a Christmas layout. I found this photo from when I was about three years old.

I used Gelatins mini retro flakes & sayings stamp set. I stamped on the scalloped ribbon using Poppy Parade ink by Stampin' Up. I arranged several stamps on my acrylic block and stamped on the ribbon. Then I removed those stamps & chose some different ones. After arranging those on my acrylic block, I stamped on the ribbon, alternating the pattern with the first set of stamping. I also attached a strip of silver gelly gems roll-ups for some extra bling to the layout. I'm dying to get my hands on the pretty red & pink gelly gems, as well as the studded!

I made a card to share with you this week!

This stamp is from the Gelatins stamp set mini retro flakes & sayings. Yes, this is actually a Christmas stamp but as you can see the sentiment can be used without the snow flake stamps in a non-Christmas way. Used alone, the sentiment can double for a Valentine's day card or even just a random I love you card.

I based this design on a sketch I found at Retro Sketches. The inks I used are poppy parade by Stampin' Up & antique linen by Tim Holtz distress ink (around the sentiment).

Try using one of your stamp sets in a non-traditional way. It's a great idea for stretching your dollar & really getting your money's worth from your stamp purchase!

Hello stamper, Nina here with another Christmas card.



I used one of the older sets from Gelatins: Mini Retro Flakes & Sayings



I heat embossed the snowflakes in white on colored card base and hand drew the dashed lines with a white gel pen.

This is also my first Gelatin stamp set. The snowflakes just make my heart skip a beat!

Party Invitation by Donna

My stamp set for this month is called 3-D Alpha. It's filled with fun uppercase letters. Since it's the season for holiday parties I thought I would start out the month with a party invitation. This card is 4 x 7 inches so it will fit into a 5 x 7 envelope. First I created the card from Real Red card stock. Then, I cut a slightly small white panel and stamped different snowflakes in red and green from a Gel-a-tins set called Retro Snowflakes. I really love the size and the graphic nature of the Retro Snowflakes set and I thought it would make a good back ground for my invitation.

Then I stamped all the letters in You're Invited alternating red and green and cut them out. The best part about doing letters this way is you can use your smallest white paper scraps to stamp them on. I love finding ways to use my small scraps!! These letters were pretty easy to cut out and it didn't take very long at all. I cut a white panel just big enough to fit the letters and adhered the letters to the panel. Then, I cut a green panel that was slightly bigger than the white panel and adhered the two panels together and then adhered the green panel to the card. It was not a hard card to make, but I think the end result is really nice. I'm sure your guests would love to get an invitation like this in the mail!
