Mini Flakes Fireworks!

Hi everyone! How are you doing?

Today I'm sharing a funky card I made using the Gel-à-Tins Mini Retro Flakes and Mini Fancy Flakes sets!

I still see fireworks when I look at these little flakes! Maybe it's just me?! But anyway, I'm alright with that when it means I can create cards like this:

How funky is that?! I even managed to sneak in some trends while I was at it - with neon and ombre making an appearance!

I started by stamping my landmarks silhouette in black in and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. I then stamped all my flakes using watermark ink and heat embossing.

Next I blended my neon inks onto my card to create that fantastic sky! After that all I did was add the numbers at the top and that's all that was needed! I know it's been 2013 for quite some time but that doesn't mean we can't still celebrate a good year so far, right?!

Supplies Used:

Gel-à-Tins:
Mini Retro Flakes, Mini Fancy Flakes

Other:
International Skyline stamp (Hero Arts), Headline Alphabet stamp set (Papertrey Ink)
Neon Pink, Neon Yellow, Neon Orange inks (Hero Arts), Versafine Onyx Black ink, Versamark ink (Tsukineko)
Stamper's Select White cardstock (Papertrey Ink)
Clear Semi Dull Embossing Powder (WOW!)

I'll be back again soon to share another project, have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday

For this card I combined many of the great stamps from the gel-a-tins range.  I wanted to create a funky and bright birthday card that would suit a teenager.  I had some new Neon markers and thought that this was the ideal way to give them a try.

Products Used

gel-a-tins 'Brick Wall' background stamp
gel-a-tins 'Raindrops Are Falling' stamp set
gel-a-tins 'Stars' set
gel-a-tins 'Mini retro Flakes and Sayings' stamp set
gel-a-tins 'SWAK' stamp set
StazOn ink
Xyron 150 X
Letraset Promarkers 'Neon' set
Shoe Laces
5"x7" Card Blank

I stamped the 'Brick Wall' onto the blank base card using the StazOn ink

The markers worked great with the stamps, just rub across the surface and stamp away.

The neon combined with the stamps give a graffiti effect.

A strip from the neon shoe lace instead of ribbon gives it a little more 'Street Cred'

Celebrate!

Hi everyone! How are you doing?

Today I'm sharing a little card I made using the Gel-à-Tins Mini Retro Flakes and Mini Fancy Flakes sets!

To me, I look at flakes and I think fireworks, lol! And fireworks lead me to think of celebrations, and so this little card was born:

Pretty fun huh?! Let me tell you what I did!

I started by stamping my sentiment in the middle of the card front. I then stamped the flakes using a rainbow of colours, just like fireworks!

Joy, Peace and Love

This week I put together a tag using mainly die cut pieces by Amy Tan. I used the mini retro flakes & sayings stamp & walnut stain distress ink.

Here is a close up of the stamping:

I cut a piece of the silver gelly gem off & adhered it at the bottom. You can't go wrong with a little bling!

Thanks for stopping by this week & for more details you can check out my blog: http://marklandandmain.blogspot.com/

Sweet Snowflakes

Christmas has passed. But winter is still here. So here is a frosty snowflake card you can send to people who didn't get a Christmas card from you (yet).

I used a very smooth cardstock for my base and added white embossing powder to my Mini Retro Flakes and Mini Fancy Flakes. Then I went in with a large dot stamp to fill in the spaces. I love the way it made such a soft background.

My next addition was the sentiment block wrapped in a little bit of twine. And to top everything off, out came a few buttons for some of the flakes.

Simple card...yet packs some punch.

Be sure to check back often as we share many more crafty ideas with you.

Adorable Ornaments!

Christmas is tomorrow so I wanted to share a couple of ornaments I made for my tree. The first one I just altered a little red bucket I found at Hobby Lobby. I added an Elle's Studio tag and then some embossed snowflakes from the mini retro flakes and sayings stamp set. The embossing powder is scented - Santa's candy cane. It smells as good as it sounds!

For my second ornament, I altered a CD and used the same stamp set and embossing powder. I also had some help from my Cricut; I cut the snowflakes from the Joys of the Season cartridge.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy your holiday!

Gingerbread Fun!

It's that time of year again! We all love making cards, so why not make them really special for those you love. This card looks complex, but really it is super simple to put together.

I embossed the Mini Fancy Flakes and the Mini Retro Flakes onto white cardstock and then added a bit of blue chalk to highlight them. Next I stamped and paper pieced the house from the Gingerbread House set. I had a few areas left to color in with my Copic markers. Using the same set, I embossed the green cardstock trees in white and then added some bling to complete my scene. And don't forget the border around the house made with red Gelly Gem Roll Ups! My final addition was the embossed banner. Let it Snow!!

Be sure to check back often for loads of fun and crafty ideas using our stamps and other great products.

See you soon.
