Halloween is Almost Here!

Halloween is fast approaching. I thought I would make one more card to send to a friend. I used the Witchy Poo Collection once again. There are so many images in that set. It is fabulous.

To make this card, I stamped the witch onto yellow cardstock. I used a circle cutter to cut out a circle. It represents the moon. I cut a slightly larger circle in orange, and adhered the two circles together with foam adhesive.

Adhere the circles to the white panel. Stamp the sentiment following the curve of the outer circle. I stamped each letter individually to make sure they were spaced correctly.

Use additional pattern paper to finish off the card. I added two buttons and a small cloud for some interest and to offset the symmetrical design.

Not so Spooky Haunted House

Hello, everyone. I am bringing you another halloween card using the fabulous haunted house image from the Witchy Poo collection.



I first stamped the house onto white cardstock. I cut out some of the windows, and place a piece of ledger paper behind it. The lines in the paper add to the look of the windows. I added a moon, hand-cut cloud, and a stamped bat. The sentiment was stamped onto pattern paper and cut into banner shapes. I adhered most of the elements with foam adhesive squares. Such a must-have when making cards!

Let it Snow!

Ok...maybe we don't want snow quite yet! But we can certainly get ready for it. This card uses the "Let It Snow" stamp from the gelly jr's collection.



Create a card base from blue cardstock and a small piece of pattern paper. Add some twine to hide the seem.
Use a watermark ink to stamp just the snowflake randomly on the cardstock. Use blue ink to stamp the words, cut them out, and adhere just above the pattern paper.
I used various punches and dies to create the additional white snowflakes. Adhere to the card with foam adhesive squares.
A cute little button adds a bit of color and interest.
To blend all of the elements together, I used the blue ink and lightly swiped it across everything. It softens the edges a bit.

An Early Halloween Card!

Hello, everyone. Here is another early halloween card. I used the spider web stamp from the Witchy Poo Collection.

Simply stamp the spider web twice at the top of a white piece of cardstock. Stamp the web two more times, cut out, and adhere with foam adhesive squares. This just gives some interest and dimension.

Use a thin, black marker to draw the web coming down and the sentiment. I actually penciled it in first to make sure I was happy with the way it looked. A small, circle punch is perfect to make the spider's body.

Use black patterned paper to complete the card. A simple statement that hopefully will make the recipient smile and not squirm!

Celebrate Halloween

The weather here is getting a bit cooler. Autumn is approaching. Before we know it, the first of the holidays will be upon us. The stamp set called, "Witchy Poo" is perfect to celebrate spooky but fun Halloween!


This stamp set includes some witch imagery, as well as bats, bones, and a banner. I decided to use part of the stamp banner and the bats to create this card.

To begin, make a card base from orange cardstock. Stamp the banner and bats in black ink on white cardstock. Cut them out. Use individual flags from the stamped banner and triangles cut from patterned paper to make this focal point embellishment. Add some ribbons, knotted ribbon, and bats for additional texture.

The sentiment can be stamped or handwritten (as I have done here.) Use a thin black marker to create some detail around the border of the card.

Don't be "afraid" to make this banner as elaborate as you wish. It definitely is too cute to spook!

Love Me, Love Me Knot

I made his card in honor of my fiance. We knew each other growing up. About 6th grade, we decided to carve our initials in the tree out front of my house. Many years later, we assume those initials are still there as that tree is much, much taller.

This background stamp, Love Knots, is perfect for a tribute to that expression of our childhood love.

To make this card, stamp the image onto light brown cardstock with brown ink.

Stamp it once more using red ink. Cut out part of the heart knot and adhere it with a foam adhesive square for some dimension. Add letter stickers. I used light brown stickers and just darkened them a bit with a colored pencil.

Adhere the stamped panel to a darker brown card base.

A Little Note

I would like to share a fun way to use up some of your stash. You can customize these little note cards for many occasions, including a simple thank you for a holiday gift.





I made the card base out of 2 hand cut tags. They are bound together using a strip of patterned paper. (Instead of cutting your own tags, use up that stash of shipping tags you may have on hand.) This card base measures about 3" x 1.5".

To make the multi-colored snowflake, apply red and blue ink onto the stamp. The two colors will blend to create this variation in color.

Use various baubles and crystals to further embellish the snowflake. Adhere it to the card with a foam adhesive square for some depth. Additional details like the twine, rub-on sentiment, and metal letter complete the look.

Let's Party!

Hello, everyone! I am here today to share a card featuring the Hot Flames stamp from the gelly jr's collection.

When I saw this stamp, I had many ideas come to mind for cards and invitations. I decided to go with this cute skate that would make a great card or invitation for a girl's skating birthday party. The flame image gives it that perfect touch. Every pair of skates needs a flame!

To make the skate, I used a photograph for inspiration. I made a paper piecing pattern, and then cut out the parts of the skate using different colors of cardstock. The laces are twine wrapped around tiny, black brads.

To make the flame, I dabbed pink ink on the one end of the stamp, then blue ink on the other end of the stamp. The inks blend in the middle to form purple. When stamped onto white cardstock, you can see the color variations. I cut it out and adhered it to the skate.

The circle card base is pink cardstock and purple patterned paper.

I added a sentiment by using rub-ons and a notebook patterned paper.

Hello, everyone. It is never too soon to think about the holidays. You can begin by making some simple and cute cards with the Pine stamp from the gelly jrs collection.



This stamp is pretty versatile. You can stamp it once for a small tree...or stamp it multiple times and go as high as you wish! Add some letter stamps spelling out any sentiment you wish. A clean, graphic look that is perfect for anyone.

I embellished the tree with pastel-colored buttons. It creates a soft look. Try adding red for a bold pop, or gold and silver for a sophisticated statement.

This tree design would also be great for a tall tag. A very cute way to label all of those packages you will be wrapping in a couple months.

I would like to share a card made with the candy cane stamp from the gelly jr's collection. As you can see, I used the candy cane design in a new way. I used just part of it to create the candles on this birthday cupcake.



To create the candles, stamp the candy cane onto cardstock in 3 colors. Here I used purple, blue, and green. Cut out the straight part of the cane, trimming off the curved hook. Add them to a freehand-cut cupcake, a small tag with a sentiment, and you are done.

Peace, Birdie!

Today I would like to share a simple card using the "peace birdie" stamp from the gelly jr's collection. I actually altered the design a bit by cutting it apart and reassembling the pieces. You can sometimes get several looks from just one stamp.

To make this card, cut a 4x4 card base from light yellow cardstock. Freehand cut a waved line. Adhere light blue cardstock to the underside of the front. Trim the bottom in a similar waved line. Do this one more time with a darker blue cardstock.

To create the bird, I stamped it 3 times, cut out the body, then 2 wings. I reassembled the pieces with foam adhesive squares for some dimension. The sentiment is a rub on. I adhered one word at a time, making sure it followed the waved line. The remainder of the sentiment is on the inside. A few buttons were added for texture and interest.

Here is a card I created using the flower stamp from the new gelly jrs collection. I can think of many uses for this design.



To create this cute bouquet, stamp 3 flowers onto light yellow cardstock. Cut each one out. Use a stamp dauber to add a bit of ink around the edges. It gives each flower a little dimension. Embellish the centers with rhinestones, buttons, or anything else you may have in your stash.

Cut thin strips of green cardstock for stems. Use the dauber once more to add a bit of green ink. A very light touch is all that is needed. Add a chipboard plaque, a rub-on sentiment...finish off with two brads and more ink. Your card is ready to let that special someone know you are thinking of them!

Happy Birthday!

Hello, everyone. I hope you had a good weekend. I would like to start the week off with a birthday card. I used the Flutteryby stamp from the new gelly jr's collection.

To make this card, start with a white card base. Use a craft knife to cut a curved line down the right hand side of the front only. This will symbolize the flight path for your butterflies. Add a piece of light green cardstock to the inside of the card base. Add a dotted line to each edge.

Stamp the butterflies onto colorful cardstock with black ink. Cut them out. Adhere along the curved front panel with foam adhesive dots for some dimension.

Stamp or hand write a sentiment on the front. A pretty simple card that will make anyone smile. Thank you for stopping by and starting the week with us!

Monkey-ing Around!

Hello, everyone! Yep, you guessed it. I just can't get enough of this cute little monkey from the Safari Friends collection. My previous card had him saying "hi!" This time, he is here to say, "thank you." And...I also turned him into a sock monkey. He is just as fun with this new identity.




To create the sock monkey look, simply stamp the image onto cream and light brown cardstock. Cut out the pieces and reassemble. I added the pointed football shape over his mouth in red. This small touch makes all the difference.

I added him to a 4x4 card. Start with a red card base. Punch a square out of the front. Add a piece of white cardstock to the inside. Adhere the monkey with a foam adhesive square, making sure he is visible through the punch out. Hand write (or stamp) a sentiment on the inside.

I added a button brad and a piece of twine for a fun closure. Simply adhere one end of the twine behind the white cardstock. Wrap the other end around the button brad. For additional detail, use a black marker with a thin point and outline the front and inside of the card.

Lions and Tigers and...

...oh my! Isn't the Safari Friends set just too cute?! It is perfect to create some decorations for a little boy's birthday party.



I created this circus tent from cut paper. I found an image through an online search to use for inspiration.
The first step is to cut the tent shape from white cardstock. Trace that onto a piece of red cardstock. Cut into stripes.
Cut a piece of black cardstock into the shape of a tall, skinny triangle. When adhered to the center stripe along with two smaller yellow triangles, it will look like the tent flaps are slightly open. Add a banner of triangle flags, and a waving flag at the peak of the roof and your big top is complete.

Stamp the lion and tiger onto orange, yellow, and off-white cardstock. Cut out the pieces and adhere together. I love to use stamps for a paper-pieced look.



Add small pieces of folded cardstock to the back of all finished items to make them stand up. An adorable idea would be to place the circus tent at the top of a cupcake carousel display. And then randomly place lions and tigers amongst the cupcakes...or use them as cupcake toppers. Simply adhere them to toothpicks.

For one dapper dad...

Hello, everyone! I would like to share another Father's Day idea with you. This cute shirt can be made into a stand-alone display or a greeting card.

To begin, cut a piece of cardstock to 5" x 7". Come down about one inch from the top, cut a one inch slit on the left side, and one inch slit on the right side. Fold in the flaps to make the collar.

To make the pattern on the tie, use the small square stamps from the Unbeleafable Collection. Arrange them on the clear stamp block, and just keep stamping until you fill up half a sheet of cardstock. Cut out a tie shape and adhere underneath the collar flaps. Use adhesive foam squares under the collar and end of the tie for dimension.



Cut a small rectangle for a pocket. Add a small scrap of the stamped design to serve as a handkerchief hanging out of the pocket. Use adhesive foam squares to make it pop off the shirt. Cut 2 rectangles and adhere at an angle for the sleeves.

To make the shirt a stand-alone display, add a piece of folded cardstock to the back to make it stand up. If you would like to make this a greeting card, make the body of the shirt a folded card base. The sleeves can be optional.

I hope you enjoyed this project. You can use many of the stamp collections for tie patterns. Cheveron-tastic would make a great tie! I just might have to try that...

gel-a-tin jewelry!

Hi, everyone. This is Kim F. I hope your week is going well. I am ready for the weekend!

One of my favorite ways to express my creativity is to make jewelry. Here is a necklace I created using the Unbeleafable Stamp set. A simple technique that is fun and fashionable.



To begin, choose a color of oven bake clay. I used Premo! by Sculpey in Denim Blue. Work a small piece until it becomes soft. Roll it into a ball and flatten to about 1/16 of an inch. Choose a stamp from the collection and put a small amount of cooking spray on the surface. This will prevent the stamp from sticking to the clay. Then simply press the stamp into the clay. Carefully remove the stamp. Immediately clean off the stamp with a baby wipe.

To give your pendant a finished look, use a bezel setting such as this one by Lisa Pavelka. Using a craft knife, trim your stamped clay to fit inside. Bake your piece (just the clay, not the bezel) according to the package instructions.

Once your piece is cool, cover the front with white acrylic paint. Let it dry a bit. Then take a damp paper towel and lightly wipe away some of the paint from the raised surfaces. This will bring out the detail of the stamped design.

Add your piece into the bezel. The clay can be sanded around the edges if the fit is not quite exact. You can also use adhesive made for clay to keep the piece secure.

Hang the pendant on a jewelry cord and you are ready to go!

For a little monkey...

Hello! I hope your week is going well. I am having fun playing with gel-a-tins stamps.

My latest creation features the little monkey from the Safari Friends stamp set. He is so cute with his sideways smile and eyes looking upward. I thought he would be perfect to hold this sentiment floating among the newspaper clouds like balloons.

First, I chose a yellow and orange cardstock for the monkey. I stamped the image once on each color. Then, I cut out the full body, his muzzle, and his belly. I adhered them together on the front of the card. He is standing on a rolling hill made from green cardstock, just free hand cut with a craft knife.

Next, I cut out the number "4" and the letter "u" using a Cuttlebug Die Cutting Machine and white cardstock. I adhered them to the card, using foam dots for some dimension underneath the "4." Some string and clouds cut from newspaper complete the look.

I hope you enjoyed this project. It definitely brought a smile to my face.
